My vision for Nest & Nurture began as a little egg of an idea a couple of years ago, born out of frustration at the lack support in our society for new parents. We can't do it all. If you don't have the resources to look after yourself, how can you take care of a new baby or your family? When we stretch ourselves too thinly, our patience runs out. By planning ahead for your recovery after birth, and hiring a postpartum doula, you can prevent fatigue, sleep deprivation, social isolation, and postpartum depression.
I will support you to become the parent you want to be.
When I became a mother for the first time, I was compelled to create connection and support for myself and other new parents. My interest in food and health dates back many years, and was renewed in pregnancy. My first born's severe allergies threw me a major curve ball at a time when I was still struggling with postpartum recovery and sleep deprivation. Despite this, I took on the food allergy challenge and learned how to adapt my favourite recipes and invent new ones. In 2017, I attended the Holistic Doula Program at Pacific Rim College in Victoria, BC, an extensive, innovative training program in birth, labour and postpartum. In 2018 I attended the Breastfeeding Course for Health Care Providers by Douglas College at UVic, this along with my personal experiences, allows me to support you in finding your own breastfeeding rythym in the early days postpartum.
Parenthood can at times be lonely and exhausting, and new parents need services that will help them become organized and established as a family. With Nest & Nurture, I have created a service that will help you avoid feeling exhausted and overwhelmed, and instead transition into parenthood joyfully, feeling fully supported and secure.
